Electional astrology is primarily the selectional of a date for a future event. It provides you with an opportunity to intentionally chose a time when the planetary configurations or strengths best support your desired outcome. For an individual there are several ways in which electionals can be used . Examples of this include:
- Marriage or Committment ceremony
- Purchasing, renting, selling, or building a home
- Going on a trip
- Divorce proceedings
- Entering into contracts
- Beginning a new job
- Making a Will
- Buying or selling goods
There is one important point to consider: the natal or birth chart out-weighs an electional chart. This means that if your birth chart shows a tendency to have difficulties with money, an electional will not be a cure-all or magic wand to avoid or avoid those struggles. However, within the framework of your natal chart, electional astrology does have the benefit of consciously helping the process to proceed as easily as possible.
There are some facts that are necessary for me to know before a work on a chart can begin:
- Your birth information (and any other parties involved)
- What are the parameters or constraints within which the event must take place: time of day (e.g. 7 - 9 PM), days of the week (e.g. Thursday and Saturday only), and/or the period of time in which the event must occur (e.g. within the next 3 weeks).
- Location of the event
- Any special circumstances involved
- What the event is, your objective or intention, what you wish to accomplish and relevant background information.
The longer period of time open to elect a date, the greater the possibility a strong and favorable time can be found. The also applies to the time of day. The greater flexibility you have or are willing to provide, the better.
